Carabooda has to its north the Walding Road. The Karoborup Road or Romeo Road is to its south. To its east is Old Yanchep Road. The Mitchell Freeway come up to the west of Carabooda.
Carabooda takes its name from the lake nearby of the same name. It was previously called Karoborup, derived from a word of the Aborigine Noongar tribe of Western Australia.
Carabooda has now given its name to a special type of limestone called Carabooda limestone. This limestone has a warm and earthy colour with different textures. Its flexibility allows it to be crafted into different shapes. The limestone is a speciality of this region.Carabooda is an agricultural town with around 1000 people living here.
